How to request account and data deletion.

HelloWhen – Account & Data Deletion

This document explains how to delete your account and what happens to your data.

Delete your content

Where deletion controls are available in the UI, you can delete:

  • plans you created,
  • messages (where supported),
  • other profile content.

Delete your account

You can delete your account directly in the app:

  • Mobile: Settings → Account → Delete account
  • Web: Settings / Account → Delete account (or open the account deletion page from within the app)

To protect you from unauthorized deletion, we require a confirmation step and password re‑authentication.

If you cannot access the app

If you cannot access the app (lost access, broken device, etc.), you can request deletion by support:

Send an email to support@hellowhen.com from the email address associated with your account with the subject: "Delete my HelloWhen account".

Include your username and a clear confirmation that you want the account deleted. We may ask for additional verification.

What gets deleted

  • your authentication data (email / password credentials),
  • your profile data (display name, bio),
  • active sessions and refresh tokens (you will be logged out everywhere).

Some content you created (e.g., plans you organized) may remain visible to other users for integrity and safety reasons, but it will be anonymized (no longer linked to your identity).

What may be retained

For safety, fraud prevention, legal compliance, or dispute resolution, we may retain limited records (e.g., security logs) for a short period.

Timeline

We aim to process deletion requests within a reasonable time. If we need more information to verify ownership, we’ll ask.
